Google will release the phones on August 13 this year. The company has already released videos about the upcoming phones. Four models are expected: the standard Pixel 9, and two versions of the Pixel 9 Pro. One of those Pro models is expected to have a 6.1-inch display, while the other, the Pixel 9 Pro XL, is expected to have a 6.7-inch display. The fourth phone will be the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold, which will be the successor to the Pixel Fold.
The Pixel 9 is expected to have an ultra-wide lens, while the Pro models will add a telephoto lens. Studies suggest that all phones will get an upgraded ultra-thin sensor, while the Pixel 9's front-facing camera will add autofocus features already available on the Pro models.
With its power, Google always competes with Apple, and many people wonder whether to buy an iPhone or a Google?
Of course, the fact that you can buy phones with the new Tensor G4 chipset is ideal. That means new AI-powered features are coming soon.
As for the Pixel 9 Fold, both of its screens should be larger than the Pixel Fold, according to leaked renders of the Fold. Screens could also be brighter. Google is expected to have more RAM to help the Tensor G4 chip power the device.
Rumors suggest that both Pro models will feature a larger ultra-wide camera sensor to help the Pixel 9 Pro XL take better low-light photos. There is also speculation that there will be a selfie camera upgrade for the Pro phones to 42MP.
One of the changes is that the Pixel 9 Pro XL will have a higher performance 16GB of RAM. More RAM can be a great upgrade especially for the phone's AI features.
There is currently no news on the Pixel 9 Pro XL's battery size, but every phone shop can attest that everyone is waiting for that change.
The Pixel 9 series will be the first series of phones to launch with Android 15, the latest version of Google's OS. Currently, Android 15 beta version is available on Google Pixel 6, Google Pixel 6a, Pixel 7 and Google Pixel 8 series.
